Scream for Me Internet!!!!
Until I started reading Metal Inquisition, I thought reading blogs was an enormous waste of time. Then, one fateful day, I stumbled upon a Metal Inquisition investigative report on what the band Manowar was up to and I was hooked. The site is filled with weird references to obscenely funny metal oddities. I grew up listening to way too much heavy metal. I loved the music, but I found some of the acts to be utterly ridiculous. This site was the perfect place for me to spend hours reading about concepts as absurd as the Mike Browning built Nocturnus Time Machine or what to do if you contract a bad case of Robb Flynn’s disease. These references would mean nothing to you if you are among the 6 billion or so people who did other things besides listen to metal from the ages of 15 to 28, but for sunlight averse, head banging loners like myself, it is like swimming in an oasis of surreal memories. I really owe my current addiction to blog reading and writing to this site. Unfortunately, this blog seems to be on its last legs. There haven’t been many posts lately and I fear it will soon fade into the vast, ever growing digital graveyard of dead blogs. But, for a time, there was nothing like it.
