Dr. Matthew Ashton, a lecturer at Nottingham Trent University in England, has put together one heck of a great blog about American and British political life. Ashton’s blog is a collection of his commentary on historically significant political movies, books, television series and advertisements as well as extensive insights into the meaning of recent events and trends. He’s got a wealth of knowledge, an engaging writing style and a heck of a great memory for significant political figures and moments. The highlight of the blog for me is his catalogue of great political mistakes which includes several hilarious anecdotes. The one about the British Deputy Prime Minister punching a protestor in the face is particularly hysterical. This blog is a must-read for anyone, like myself, who is afflicted with a hardcore political obsession.
